It was a good week for op-eds and the national program (ours, not England’s), but a solemn cloud hangs over this week’s victories with the passing of US MNT assistant coach Glenn “Mooch” Myernick. He will be missed.

Playoffs come early. Even though the MLS regular season ends this weekend, Saturday hosts several big games - none bigger than New York v Kansas City. Looking up to KC two points ahead, New York has to win to keep playing.
