sixty years and 24 hours later
I think even less than 24 hours after the game, you’ve read enough about USMNT v England. And really, if you’re reading this website, you don’t need someone else to tell you what you saw.
So simply here to help take you there…
Overheard in Rustenburg… “Don’t call it a comeback. Or a miracle. And don’t be satisfied with a tie. That’s what I keep telling myself. That’s what I want for U.S. Soccer.”
on the way from Johannesburg, some cows crossed the road. Ooh so exotic and rural! Eh. BMW police cars–now you’ve got my attention.

I couldn’t take my eyes off of this scene. My kind of church and a tree of souls more beautiful than James Cameron could create.

knight moves but nary a hooligan in the house.

yet another reason to love smaller stadiums: fewer vuvuzelas. I really don’t mind them in the stadium, but my ears needed a break after the opener at Soccer City.

if the USMNT supporter groups were there (which of course they were), any coherent presence was missing. Pretty sure a lot of those Americans who bought all those tickets were Mexicans.

next time, get there early and hang your banners. yikes.

The English flags hanging from the second level we’re sick. I had a ball at the local bar with the boys I’m glad it was a good game to watch in general.

Sweet, Adam, you are in South Africa! Awesome shots. I’m **all in** for the next World Cup as your photo correspondent, but it looks like you are getting the job done!

On paper, it looks like a draw is quite a good result for the US. However, I think they didn’t play their best game: the US team is capable of so much more, we Mexicans know that for a fact xD
I’m glad the US team is looking good. Don’t be mistaken: many people down here in Mexico will be cheering for the US in the next game against Serbia… gotta show them that CONCACAF knows how to play football.
