second thoughts about mls?
June 4th, 2007 Adam
The entertainment guide (how fitting?) at the Evening Standard is reporting, without direct quotes mind you, that David Beckham is having second thoughts about joining MLS after his recent recall to fame in Europe. Imagine that.
Normally, I wouldn’t even bother with this, but after a weekend where one of my alma maters’ got a coach to come back after he not only announced he was leaving, but signed a contract with another team, nothing is impossible.

It’s a load of rubbish…when there’s a direct quote or it’s a story broken by an actual SPORTS writer, then we might have some cause to worry.
My take? Just the media trolling to create some rumors, to get people talking, and to put some pressure on Beckham to stay in Europe/England.

rubbish or not… anybody in their right mind should second guess themselves when taking a step back with a move to a second rate league and still expect to play competitively on an international level.

Second rate, maybe. But certainly better than it is deemed in England.
I would rather watch an MLS game than any boot it up field Championship battle. If memory serves me correct, English clubs struggled in Europe for the longest time, until Mr. Bosman ushered in a group of foreigners who taught the English how to play. Let’s hope for an England win against Estonia. That way fans can keep their ineffective gaffer and continue down their path of self-debated mediocrity.

im from the us and if David Beckham did not play i would lose all respect for him because you cant change such a big phenomenom just because you make a great asist in england. its crazy talk.

Here’s a thought: GO to England and watch a match before you make any comment on how “good” MLS is.

honestly, Beckham is quite stupid for even thinking in coming to the U.S because we all know that by doing that he completely destroyed his career; US soccer is so fake…i absolutely dislike it!!!
